The resort of Golden Sands is the largest one on the northern Black Sea coast. It is situated in environmentally-clean bay, 18 km north-east of Varna, 488 km east of Sofia. The resort is located in Golden Sands Nature Park on an area of over 1320 hectares. It is bounded on the north by Kranevo village and on the south by Chaika (Seagull) villa, and merges with the resort of St. St. Constantine and Helena. Golden Sands is the winner of a “Blue Flag” – a prestigious international award for environmentally clean resorts.
